Recently, I had the challenge and privilege of participating in the renovation project of the Canadiano Urban Nature Hotel. As responsible for the design of the new corporate image, logo, graphic elements, and decorative pieces, my goal was to create a visual identity that reflected the history of the city where the hotel is located, Ponta Delgada, and harmonized with the excellence of the new architecture and interior design created by the SAL Architects team, as well as adapting to the nobility of the materials and finishes selected by RPM Construções.

Originally opened in 1982, the Hotel now emerges with a new image and a new story to tell…

For the logo and communication, I selected one of Mário Feliciano’s typographies, one of the current icons of Portuguese type creation. The illustrations in the rooms were based on selected vintage photos from the cultural institute’s archive in Ponta Delgada, and those in the public areas were developed in partnership with photographer Rui Soares.

It was a challenging project, but also one of the most relevant I have recently executed, both for the project itself and for the opportunity to work so closely with the excellent team of the Canadiano Urban Nature Hotel.
